EOP Campus T.O.U.R.S.
Translating Opportunity to Uplift Rising Stars
Our Early Outreach efforts aim to “Plant the Seed” with students at the elementary and middle school grade levels. We invite elementary, middle school, and community organizations’ students to see and experience SDSU by taking a campus tour. Visiting a college campus can be one of the first steps for a young student on their path to higher education.
- Requests for 2012-2013 can begin in August.
If you have a high school class and would like a campus tour, please contact the
Once again, due to high demand we are completely booked with our early outreach tours for the 2012-2013 school year. We will resume accepting tour requests in August 2013 for Fall 2013. If you are a middle school or elementary school and would like to still visit SDSU, we can provide you materials for your own self-guided tour of the campus. If this is an option you would like for you and your group then you can email Rodrigo Gutierrez.
Sorry for the inconvenience and we will see you next year!!
The tours and outreach materials must be requested at least 3 weeks in advance (4 weeks for groups of 60 or more) and are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. EOP Campus Tours are available every Monday-Friday between 10 am and 2 pm. All requests are reviewed before an approval confirmation email is given. Turn-around for Campus Tour approval is THREE Business Days. Presentations and student panels are not always guaranteed due to classroom size/availability on campus.
Helpful Guidelines to guarantee a tour request is approved:
The smaller the group (40 and under), THE BETTER
Smaller groups are easier to manage, get tours guides for, and find presentation rooms for panels or presentations.
Tuesdays and Thursdays usually are TOUR ONLY days
Since Tuesday and Thursday are our highest enrolled days of the week, finding classroom space for presentations and panels is VERY difficult. Small groups (under 40) work best on these days for a tour and panel\presentation if you would like to have one.
100 Students is the highest number we can accommodate during a tours
Since we like to keep the groups small and VERY interactive, groups larger than 100 students make it difficult to get enough student volunteers to be tour guides during the school day thus making the tour groups larger and diminishing the experience.
Due to limited staff and student availability we will ONLY be able to offer tours on Wednesdays and Fridays at the following times: 10am, 11am, 1pm, and 2pm.
Also due to limited staffing we will ONLY be able to provide tours and presentations/panels to groups with 6th, 7th, or 8th graders. All Elementary-aged groups could receive materials for a self-guided tour. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Early Outreach Tours
This will be the 3rd year of integrating our Early Outreach Tours with our campus' Career Fairs so students can visualize one of the primary benefits of a college education: a good job!
With the help of our Career Services department, students will go on an hour long campus tour, and then each student will be assigned their own company/employer to ask several questions about their field. After the tour and questions students will go into a presentation to discuss what they learned from their employers and how they can use their college education.
This will be a two-hour program. This will only be available to 3 groups due to room availability, size, and the end time of the career fairs. The schedule is as follows:
- Spring Career & Internship Fair
Thursday, February 21, 2013 (1pm) - Teacher & Education Career Fair
Thursday, March 28, 2013 (1pm) - Just in Time Career & Internship Fair
April 25, 2013 (1pm)
Groups cannot exceed 40 students due to room limitations.
